4ward Sciences Consultant: Edward Earl

I was born in New York on the tail end of the baby-boom generation. I grew up in South Carolina and went to graduate school at the University of Utah, finishing my Ph.D. in computational chemistry in the early 1990s. For fifteen years thereafter I lived in San Diego, California. Today I live near Seattle, Washington.

As my degree title suggests, I am well trained, talented, skilled, and experienced as a physical scientist, applied mathematician, and engineer. In my 20 year career I've worked as a software developer, systems engineer, and as both a pure and applied research scientist. Projects range from quantum mechanical modeling to network performance, pharmaceuticals to telecommunications, and aircraft surveillance to materials engineering. I've worked in academic, commercial, engineering, and government environments.

In addition to my professional pursuits, I am also engaged in a number of hobbies and avocations. I am an avid and accomplished mountain climber, and I play the violin in a symphony orchestra. I am also an amateur astronomer and an instrument-rated private pilot.
